MWYC
started life in 1961. In 2002 we opened our new
clubhouse, which is larger and much better appointed than
the previous one.
Sailing takes place every Sunday throughout the year with
a race at 11.00 am (with the club opening at 10.00am for
crews to get ready) . In addition there is a series of
races held on Wednesday evenings from May to August and
the Club opens at 7.00pm on these days. There is also
recreational sailing from 2.00 on Saturdays between March
and November and after the Sunday races.
The Club has a licensed bar which is open during sailing
times and lunches are served on Sundays
Members of the Club carry out rescue boat and galley
duties on a rota basis.
These duties come around about six times a year and are
not a great hardship. In addition, in order to keep
subscriptions down, the majority of the maintenance at
the Club is carried out by members in organised working
parties which occupy perhaps two or three Saturday
mornings a year.

I hope this has
told you what you need to know but should you want
further information please ask. There will always be
someone prepared to help you.
Remember
sailing is fun, which is what we try to concentrate on.
So why not join us at Willes Meadow and become another
member of that happy family which spends its time
"muckin' about in boats"!
